DENVER (AP) - A man has died after being shot during a confrontation with a federal task force organized by the U.S. Marshals Service in southwest Denver.

Denver Police said Saturday that a woman who also was shot during the confrontation remains at a hospital. Her injuries are described as “non-life threatening.”

Authorities have not released the man’s name.

Denver Police spokesman Doug Schepman said Friday that the shooting happened after agents stopped a vehicle to arrest a suspect on a probation violation Friday afternoon.

Schepman said it’s not yet clear what prompted the shooting, and investigators are trying to determine if the suspects opened fire.

No officers were injured.
