BOSTON (AP) - A firefighter has been injured battling a large blaze at a Boston church.
Fire officials say the unnamed firefighter suffered a leg injury and was taken to the hospital as crews struggled to contain a fire at Holy Mt. Zion Church in the city’s Roxbury neighborhood early Saturday morning.
The fire was reported at about 4 a.m. and efforts to tamp down flames throughout the brick structure lasted more than three hours. Multiple fire crews from across the city were called to the scene.
Fire officials say frigid temperatures and heavy smoke made putting out the fire challenging.
