SEATTLE (AP) - Authorities say there’s an increased avalanche danger in some areas of the Cascade Mountains due to recent snowfall.

The Northwest Avalanche Center tells KING-TV in a story on Friday that recent snowfall fell during warmer temperatures than the older snow beneath it.

Officials say that creates a “strong over weak” situation and increases the chance of an avalanche.
