Chelsea Clinton may not have possessed details on the Aurora, Illinois, shooter or how he acquired a firearm, but she had plenty of “incandescent fury” for a lack of gun-control measures on Friday.
Five people died and police officers were injured at the Henry Pratt Co., a manufacturing company, when the only child of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton mixed prayer with politics.
“DEVELOPING: City of Aurora, Illinois has issued active shooter alert in industrial area,” a local radio station tweeted. “Reports say multiple people have been shot. Stay with WWJ for more information.”
“Thoughts & prayers for Aurora. Holding all affected in my heart,” Ms. Clinton tweeted before directing anger at politicians. “Incandescent fury for the lawmakers in Washington and various state capitals who have done nothing to prevent mass shootings. It’s never too early to talk about gun violence prevention — it’s always too late.”
Several businesses and streets in that area were closed off during the shooting, WGN reported.
Update: Gunman Gary Martin, 45, was fatally shot at the scene.
Thoughts & prayers for Aurora. Holding all affected in my heart.
