OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) - Some Kansas schools are canceling classes before another winter storm hits.
Districts canceling classes for Friday include Shawnee Mission, Olathe, Topeka and Lawrence. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for much of Kansas, except the northwest and extreme southwestern part of the state.
Snow is expected to begin falling midmorning with accumulations of up to 5 inches (about 13 centimeters) expected. In some areas, sleet and freezing rain also are possible, making roads dangerous.
