PHOENIX (AP) - Police say a 60-year-old woman has been struck and killed by a car as she crossed a major thoroughfare.

Sgt. Tommy Thompson said Selina Dole was crossing in the 4800-block of West McDowell Road about 6 a.m. Friday when she was struck by a Ford Fusion sedan driven by a 61-year-old man. The driver was not identified.

Police say the driver remained at the scene of the accident and impairment does not appear to have been a factor. He was not injured.

The accident remains under investigation.
