Since its inception, Israel has been the object of persecution, hate, war and destruction. Even today, its enemies are working to that end. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is calling for an “army of Islam” to invade Israel and destroy the nation and its people.

Most are familiar with the story of the Israelites crossing the Red Sea to escape pharaoh’s army when God parted the waters. What is not commonly known is that, in the story, there is a pause in the action when the Lord himself comes down into the Red Sea. After parting the waters, He removes the wheels from pharoah’s chariots. Startled and stranded in no-man’s land, pharaoh’s men cry out, “God is fighting for the Israelites” (Exodus 14:21-25).

The Bible records episodes of divine intervention on behalf of Israel since Israel’s inception. Most recently, in the 1967 War of Independence, Palestinians could be heard saying, “Their God turns our rockets or sends them to the Mediterranean.” In modern times, Israel’s Iron Dome takes out most of the rockets fired at it.

Most of the world hates Israel and wants it destroyed, but its enemies still don’t get it: God is ensuring survival for His chosen people with miraculous events. How else would it be possible for such a tiny nation, its people and armed forces so out-numbered, be able to survive relentless attacks from much-larger armies?

I believe that ultimately there will be an all-out Islamist invasion into Israel — and that once again, God will intervene.
