BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (AP) - The aircraft engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney plans to invest $30 million in a West Virginia facility. The company on Thursday announced its plans to invest the money in an engine services facility in Bridgeport, news outlets report. The expansion is expected to create about 50 jobs and the facility may be fully operational by early 2021, company spokeswoman Catherine Cunningham said. The site will focus on two types of engines for the Gulfstream G500 and G600 aircraft, though it may expand its focus in the future, according to a company statement. Gov. Jim Justice said in the statement that he’s thrilled with ongoing commitment from the company, which he says has been integral to the state aerospace community since 1971.
