2 docked shrimp boats sink after fire rips through them

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Fire officials say two shrimp boats sank after being engulfed in flames while docked near Jacksonville.

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue officials tweeted pictures of the fire, which started early Tuesday morning.

Officials say it’s not yet known what started the fire. A fire investigator was called to the scene in Mayport.

Fire officials say the first boat sank around 4:30 a.m. The second one sank a short time later.

There were no reports of injuries.
