Two state police troopers responding in separate SUV’s to a crash scene escaped injury when their vehicles collided Friday on a major highway in northern New Jersey.
The collision occurred shortly before 7 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Route 80 in Paterson, authorities said. Neither trooper required medical attention, but their names have not been released.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
The two troopers were responding to a crash that had occurred a few minutes earlier on Route 80. No one was seriously injured in that accident, but the crash and its cleanup disrupted traffic in the area throughout the morning commute.
