VERO BEACH, Fla (AP) - A man and woman were hospitalized Thursday after a train hit their car in Florida, authorities said.
The crash happened after the car went under the crossing arm, Vero Beach police Sgt. Chris Roberts said. Witnesses later told police that the couple appeared to be confused before driving onto the tracks, Treasure Coast Newspapers reported.
Indian River County Fire Rescue took the man and woman to a nearby hospital. Their injuries weren’t considered life-threatening, police said. No other injuries were reported.
The road where the crash occurred was closed for more than an hour.
