LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities have identified two woman killed in separate wrong-way crashes that occurred just hours apart in Las Vegas.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the victims of the weekend incidents as Cecily Coreen Camarena, 23, and Roshonda Sawara Thornton, 41, KLAS-TV reported Monday.
The first crash was reported around 11 p.m. Saturday after a wrong-way passenger car crashed with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 15 near Jean. Camarena suffered fatal injuries.
The second wrong-way fatal crash happened just before 2 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 215. The crash involved two passenger vehicles and each had two occupants.
Thornton was the driver in the car that was traveling correctly, police said.
All four people involved in the crash were taken to University Medical Center Trauma. But Thornton succumbed to her injuries.
Investigators believe impairment was a factor in the second crash.
The investigations in both remain ongoing.
