PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The average cost of a gallon of gasoline in Rhode Island has inched up 2 cents.
AAA Northeast reports Monday that self-serve, regular is now selling for an average of $2.51 per gallon, which is 7 cents lower than the national average and 8 cents lower than the prices in Rhode Island a year ago.
AAA found a 30-cent range in prices for regular, from a low of $2.39 per gallon to a high of $2.69.
Spokesman Lloyd Albert says the lower prices are good news for holiday shoppers and those planning trips to be with family and friends.
