LONGBOAT KEY, Fla. (AP) - A person was killed in a car accident with a Florida police officer.
Sarasota police officials did not release details about what caused Wednesday’s two-car crash . The Longboat Key Police officer was on duty and sustained non-life threatening injuries. A spokesman said a person in another vehicle was killed and their passenger was taken to the hospital.
The Herald Tribune reports the accident closed the road in both directions.
None of the victims were identified.
