LAS VEGAS (AP) - A motorist is facing multiple charges in Las Vegas including felony driving under the influence causing death after police say he fled the scene of one crash, killed a pedestrian while running a red light at another intersection, and ran from police after crashing again.

Stephen Huddleston, 41, of Las Vegas, was being held Monday at the Clark County jail pending an initial court appearance following his arrest Sunday afternoon after a BMW 540i struck a light pole off busy Boulder Highway, records showed.

Huddleston is expected to have a lawyer appointed to his case at that time.

Police say Huddleston showed signs impairment during his arrest following a foot chase.

The Clark County coroner did not immediately identify the 46-year-old Las Vegas woman who died after being hit while crossing Boulder Highway. Police said she was pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

A passenger in the vehicle, Zendell Huddleston, 59, was taken to a hospital where police said she was treated for minor injuries.

Police said investigators determined the BMW had been involved in another crash at Boulder Highway and Nellis Avenue shortly before the pedestrian was struck.
