LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - Police in Las Cruces believe they have identified a man found dead in a concrete drainage canal in the city.
They say the man is believed to be 58 years old and was known to be living in the canal.
Police say the canal on Main Street often is frequented by homeless people.
Officer say they’ve have been in contact with the man’s family, but they won’t release his name until it’s confirmed through the medical investigator’s office.
Police learned of a dead body in the canal around 3 p.m. Sunday.
They say there were no signs of foul play and nothing appears to be suspicious about the man’s death.
