I recently checked the websites of several political candidates I heard were having trouble raising money and interest for their campaigns. I quickly saw the websites themselves were hurting the candidates. Why? They were asking for online-only donations. That is really stupid.

Many people do not trust the Internet and will not pay for things or donate money over it. I am one of those people. Many senior citizens are in that category, and I believe that soon more and more people will start to refuse to buy or donate via the Internet.

It really surprises me that political candidates who say they care about senior-citizen issues were not giving a mailing address where supporters could send a check or money order.

Candidates, don’t dictate to the public how to give money to you. Let the supporters choose the way in which they want to give.
