DUNN, N.C. (AP) - Human bones were found in the yard of a North Carolina home where a resident hasn’t been seen lately, according to a sheriff’s office.
The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office said its 911 Center received a call late Monday night about a well-being check on a person at a home near Erwin, The Fayetteville Observer reported on Wednesday. The caller said the person who lived at the address had not been seen recently, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
According to the sheriff’s office, when deputies arrived at the home, they found what looked like human bones in the yard. Investigators were on the scene on Wednesday, but the sheriff’s office said there was no evidence of foul play. However, the sheriff’s office is treating the discovery as a suspicious death.
