RENO, Nev. (AP) - Authorities say an 80-year-old man who drowned at Lake Tahoe last week was from Delaware.

The Washoe County sheriff’s office identified the victim Thursday as Wilfried Holtje of Wilmington, Delaware.

His official cause of death is yet to be determined.

Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Harmon says bystanders pulled his unresponsive body onto a private beach at Crystal Bay on the lake’s north shore at about 11:45 a.m. on Aug. 2.

Emergency responders tried to revive him but he was pronounced dead at the scene about a half hour later.
