Police in Kennewick, Washington say a suspected burglar experienced a taste of his own medicine when his truck was stolen during a weekend heist.
Local surveillance shared on Kennewick Police Department’s Facebook page shows William Kelley flailing his arms around 6:00 a.m. on Aug. 25 as a suspect made off with his 1992 Chevy pick-up truck.
Moments earlier the suspected truck robber threw a 10-speed bicycle into its bed after seeing the keys still inside the vehicle.
Police say surveillance footage led to the realization that Mr. Kelley, 42, was the robbery suspect the were looking for regarding a nearby business that morning, a local CBS affiliate reported.
“Kelley was booked into the jail in the AM hours on a warrant and subsequently a new charge of Burglary was added,” the department said on its Facebook page. “Kelley’s vehicle has still not been located. Any assistance with locating the truck or the identify the car thief, please call KPD reference case number 19-33651.”
