SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Police have arrested a teenager who they say brought a gun to his high school in Salt Lake City.

Salt Lake City Detective Michael Ruff said police were called to West High School Wednesday afternoon after another student told school officials they saw the suspect with a gun on school property.

The school was placed on lockdown until police located the student and took him into custody.

No shots were fired and no one was injured.

Ruff said police are still investigating why the student brought the gun to campus and where he got it from.

Police would not identify the name or age of the suspect because he is a juvenile.
