HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - A teenager whose scooter crashed outside a Connecticut movie theater a week ago has succumbed to his injuries.

Police say 17-year-old Thalles Costa DeLima was pronounced dead at Hartford Hospital Monday afternoon.

DeLima was severely injured when his scooter was involved in a crash with a motorcycle at about 9:45 p.m. on Aug. 19 outside of the Bow Tie Cinema Palace in Hartford.

The 29-year-old motorcycle rider survived.

Lt. Paul Cicero says DeLima’s death is the city’s eight traffic fatality this year. There had been 17 traffic fatalities in Hartford by this time last year.
