DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. (AP) - A former Georgia deputy has been accused of drug possession and providing alcohol to three people under the age of 21.

News outlets report that former Douglas County Deputy David Tyler Gibson was arrested twice last week on several drug charges, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

A Facebook post from the sheriff’s office says the 23-year-old was first arrested after an assault investigation in which deputies discovered he had given alcohol to three underage people.

The post says Gibson was arrested again when deputies found drugs and a firearm during a search in Douglasville.

Capt. John Sweat says Gibson was an employee for three years.

It’s unclear whether Gibson has an attorney who could comment.
