NORTH CANAAN, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut State Police say a 46-year-old man has died in a single-vehicle crash on Route 7 in North Canaan.

Police say Matthew Holderman, of Canaan, was driving north at about 10:20 p.m. Sunday when he lost control on a curve. His truck went off the road, struck a set of mailboxes and hit a utility pole before flipping onto its roof.

Holderman was trapped in the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The reason he lost control remains under investigation and any witnesses are asked to contact investigators.
