WAHOO, Neb. (AP) - Authorities say a semitrailer driver was arrested in eastern Nebraska after he rammed into two police vehicles after accelerating toward an officer.

The 60-year-old man was arrested in Wahoo on suspicion of attempted murder of a police officer, assault of a police officer, two counts of using a weapon and two counts of criminal mischief. Online court records don’t show that he’s been formally charged yet.

The Saunders County Sheriff’s Office says officers sent Tuesday evening to check a domestic disturbance at a Wahoo residence were confronted there by the man inside the tractor. The sheriff’s office says the tractor accelerated toward one officer and then rammed into a Wahoo police vehicle and a county sheriff’s vehicle. The vehicles ended up in a nearby yard.

The sheriff’s office says the man was taken into custody after he got out of the tractor, holding a baseball bat.

One officer received treatment for minor injuries.
