LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - A Louisiana airport is getting a $2 million federal grant for parking improvements.

The grant for the Lafayette Airport Commission was announced Monday by U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in a news release. The release says the Economic Development Administration grant is to be matched with $3.38 million in local money. The department says the grant is expected to help create 82 jobs.

The money is for rehabilitation and construction of parking lots to serve the Lafayette Regional Airport’s new passenger terminal building.
