CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Highway Patrol says two people have died and two others injured in a head-on collision north of Medicine Bow.

The patrol says the accident occurred about noon Saturday on Wyoming 487 when a northbound 2004 Ford Ranger entered the southbound lane and collided head on with a southbound 2014 Subaru Forester.

The driver of the Ford has been identified as 69-year-old Laramie resident Michael J. Hopkins, who died at the scene of the crash. A passenger identified as a 9-year-old boy was transported to the Wyoming Medical Center for injuries.



The driver of the Subaru has been identified as 57-year-old Casper resident Jonathan D. Schmidt, who also died at the scene.

A passenger identified as 55-year-old Jeaneece K. Schmidt was taken to the Wyoming Medical Center.
