CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (AP) - A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a Rhode Island teenager riding a bicycle.

Police say Eric Silva is charged with felony assault with a firearm and firing in a compact area.

Police say a 17-year-old boy was shot multiple times in Central Falls at about 10 p.m. Sunday. His name wasn’t released.



Police in a statement said the boy was in serious condition at Hasbro Children’s Hospital but is expected to recover.

Authorities did not disclose a possible motive.

Silva was arraigned in Providence District Court on Monday and held on $40,000 bail. He was referred to the public defender’s office.
