NEW YORK (AP) - Sirius XM Holdings Inc. on Wednesday reported first quarter earnings of $162 million.

The New York company said it had net income of 3 cents per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 5 cents per share.



The satellite radio company posted revenue of $1.74 billion in the period.

Sirius XM shares have risen roughly 8% since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased nearly 3% in the last 12 months.
