MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. (AP) - A former acting fire chief and city council member in West Virginia has been sentenced to up to five years for sexually abusing a female co-worker.

WTOV-TV reports ex-Moundsville Fire Chief Ronald Walker was sentenced Tuesday in Marshall County Circuit Court.

Walker was found guilty of forcing a woman to touch his genitals in the parking lot of a Moundsville building in 2017. Walker told a judge Tuesday the zipper on his uniform pants often unzipped on its own, based on movement.

Walker later was dismissed as acting fire chief. He resigned from the Cameron City Council after his conviction earlier this year.
