Presidential candidate Mayor Pete Buttigieg was announced Tuesday as the third Democratic hopeful to hold a Fox News town hall.

The Indiana Democrat will appear on Fox News May 19th in an appearance to be moderated by Chris Wallace and filmed in Claremont, New Hampshire.

“We look forward to hosting Mayor Buttigieg in New Hampshire and again showcasing our first-in-class journalism and election coverage,” Jay Wallace, President and Executive Editor of Fox News and Fox Business Network, said in a statement.

Mr. Buttigieg is one of the almost 20 Democrats currently vying to be the nominee to challenge President Trump in the 2020 election.

Fox News announced Wednesday that fellow candidate Sen. Amy Klobuchar would hold a town hall on May 8. Her appearance follows the well-received town hall last Monday featuring Sen. Bernard Sanders of Vermont.

Mr. Sanders’ town hall was the most-watched event of the 2020 presidential election so far, raking in nearly 2.6 million views.

His town hall came a month after Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez rejected Fox News from hosting any of the party’s primary debates. Mr. Perez said the network’s “inappropriate relationship” with Mr. Trump prevented Fox News from providing a “fair and neutral debate for our candidates.”

Bill Sammon, the network’s senior vice president and managing editor, said in a statement they hope the DNC removes the ban, stating the network is watched by “many persuadable voters.”

“We hope the DNC will reconsider its decision to bar Chris Wallace, Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, all of whom embody the ultimate journalistic integrity and professionalism, from moderating a Democratic presidential debate. They’re the best debate team in the business and they offer candidates an important opportunity to make their case to the largest TV news audience in America, which includes many persuadable voters,” he said.
