SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - The community of South Burlington is considering proposed plans to renovate or rebuild the city’s middle and high schools.

Mynbc5.com reports the costs of the renovations ranges from $55 million to $100 million. The two schools are more than 50 years old. Rebuilding them could be cost between $162 million to $190 million.

At a meeting Thursday last week, the community heard more about eight proposed plans and shared their opinions of them. Parents were interested in changes that could affect their children’s futures.

The South Burlington student population is expected to continue to grow, unlike many other school districts in the state.

The board hopes to choose a plan to pursue by the end of the summer.
