LANSING, Kan. (AP) - Authorities say two people have died in a crash in a rural area of eastern Kansas.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash happened Tuesday after 36-year-old SaraKay Snell went off the side of Kansas 5 in Leavenworth County. The patrol says she then overcorrected and began heading southbound in the northbound lane before hitting a tree. The impact killed Snell and her 19-year-old passenger, Calob Crow. Both were from Lansing.

The wreck is under investigation.
