PHOENIX (AP) - Police in Phoenix say a 79-year-old man is dead after being struck by a car while crossing a street.

The name of the man hasn’t been released yet.

Police say the man was hit Saturday night.

He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Police say a 25-year-old woman who was driving the vehicle involved stayed at the scene.

They say speed and impairment don’t appear to be factors in the fatal accident and an investigation is continuing.
