BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - Western Kentucky University’s Acting Provost Cheryl Stevens says the school’s former Potter College of Arts and Letters dean is being reinstated after abruptly resigning last month.

The Daily News of Bowling Green reports Acting Provost Cheryl Stevens on Wednesday announced the reinstatement of Larry Snyder, citing the school’s need for stability and its abundance of staffing changes.

Former school Provost Terry Ballman left her role last week after the Faculty Senate approved a non-confidence resolution, which new outlets reported was connected to Snyder’s sudden resignation.

She said she’ll serve as an assistant to the president for special initiatives until August 2020, when she is set to become a tenured professor.

Snyder is set to resume the role Monday and hold it until his term ends in June 2021.
