OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - A Washington state legislator has returned to work the day after emergency medical personnel were summoned to the Capitol. He chalked the episode up to pneumonia.
In a statement, Moses Lake Republican Tom Dent said dehydration and the illness’ lingering effects caused a bout of dizziness Wednesday evening, and that his doctor had earlier instructed him to be on the lookout for such symptoms.
“I have been recovering from a serious case of walking pneumonia the last couple weeks,” Dent said. “Calling for emergency medical personnel was a precautionary action.”
A medical team responded to the Capitol building Wednesday, where the incident occurred during a break from voting on the floor of the House of Representatives.
