MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department has announced the winners of a drawing for permits to hunt antlerless deer during the state’s December muzzleloader season.

The permit winners, chosen by computer, are listed on the Fish & Wildlife Department website.

Hunters must have applied for the permit by the Aug. 29 deadline.

The department says winners who had applied online will get an email notification.

Fish & Wildlife Commissioner Louis Porter says, “knowing early if they’ve won, will help them plan their hunting this fall.”

This year a total of 27,000 permits were authorized for Vermont’s muzzleloader season.

The season runs from Dec. 1 through Dec. 9. Vermont’s 16-day rifle deer hunting season opens on Nov. 10.
