Long Island plant nursery employee fatally struck by truck

EAST MORICHES, N.Y. (AP) - Police on Long Island say an employee of a plant nursery was fatally struck by a box truck that was backing up.

It happened at the Kurt Weiss Greenhouses, Inc. in East Moriches at about 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Suffolk County police say 49-year-old Julia Molina, of Mastic, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck, who was also an employee, remained at the scene.

Police say the Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been notified.
