NEW YORK (AP) - A New York City subway ride took a turn for the painful for a group of passengers who ended up getting hit with a pepper spray discharge.

Authorities say someone apparently let off the spray in a train car during an argument around 9 p.m. Saturday night. The No. 2 subway train was near the Beverly Road station in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn.

Around 20 passengers were impacted, but officials say they suffered only minor injuries.

Officials say whoever sprayed the irritant fled the scene.
