AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Home sales and prices were both up in Maine in the month of August, continuing a yearlong trend.
The Maine Association of Realtors says 2,072 home were sold in August, up nearly 6 percent from August 2017. The association says the median sales price for those homes was up nearly 7 percent to $220,000.
The state bucked a national trend in which sales dipped 1 percent over the past year. The national median sales price went up nearly 5 percent to $267,300.
The association says sales through the first eight months of the year are almost 4 percent ahead of the same period for 2017.
