CANTON, Miss. (AP) - A central Mississippi highway has reopened after a tractor-trailer ran off the road and crashed into a lake.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation said Thursday that it had reopened the section of Mississippi 43 that crosses the Ross Barnett Reservoir from Madison County to Rankin County.

Investigators tell local news outlets that the truck fell into the water Wednesday night as it was trying to avoid a pickup truck carrying a boat. A third vehicle was also involved.

No injuries were reported.

Crews pulled the 18-wheeler, which was laying on its side, out of the water early Thursday morning. It was carrying auto parts bound for the Nissan Motor Co. plant in Canton.
