RAYNE, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a multivehicle crash involving a school bus in western Pennsylvania has left the bus driver dead.

No children were aboard the bus when the accident occurred around 3:40 p.m. Tuesday on Route 85 in Rayne.

Authorities say a westbound vehicle was stopped to make a left a turn when a pickup truck rear-ended it. The pickup then went into the eastbound lane and struck the bus almost head-on.

The bus driver, 34-year-old Sarah Slovinsky of Beyer, had to be extricated from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead a short time later.

Authorities say the drivers of the other vehicles escaped serious injury.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed so far.
