MANDAN, N.D. (AP) - The Highway Patrol has cited the driver the agency says is responsible for spilling about 200 gallons of sticky liquid on Mandan-area roads.
The brown substance prompted road closures for about three hours Thursday until the Bismarck HazMat team determined it wasn’t hazardous. It turned out to be molasses used for cattle feed.
The patrol says troopers followed the trail of syrup to the residence of Cody Hatzenbuhler, of Mandan. He’s been cited for having a leaking load.
