Republican pollsters predict difficult midterm election problems for Republican candidates — because, they say, although people like President Trump’s economy, they don’t like Mr. Trump.

These pollsters ignore that Trump rallies draw thousands of strong supporters who do like the president’s policies, especially the benefits from tax reforms and the marked economic improvement. They also strongly agree with his energy plans, fighting terrorism, securing the borders, ending the Paris Agreement and changing the Iran nuclear deal. Most of all, they appreciate his standing up to the threats from Communist China and Russia, and from the socialist Democrats.

Mr. Trump has also earned respect for responding to the myriad false accusations from Democrats, “never-Trump” Republicans, liberals and the liberal media. With a little more help from the GOP, Democrats and independents who have benefitted from his policies, Republicans will have a good chance of keeping their House and Senate majorities to better serve our citizens and country.
