MONROE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Police in New Jersey say two people were seriously injured when their car slammed into a utility pole.

WPVI-TV reports the crash happened around 2 a.m. Sunday in Monroe Township. Police say the driver of the vehicle lost control and crashed into a pole.

Firefighters had to extricate the two people from the car. The victims were taken to an area hospital where they’re listed in critical condition.



The cause of the crash is under investigation.
