FORT DODGE, Iowa (AP) - Iowa prison officials say a 53-year-old inmate has died, and an autopsy has been ordered.
Officials say Michael Allen Kennedy suffered a medical emergency on Monday at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility and was taken to a local hospital emergency room.
Officials say Kennedy was pronounced dead shortly after 9 p.m. Monday.
Kennedy had been serving a 15-year sentence as a habitual offender for a drug possession out of Polk County. His sentence began on Dec. 6.
