COLTS NECK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities have released the names of two people killed when a tanker truck they were in overturned on a highway in central New Jersey, spilling hundreds of gallons of diesel fuel oil.

Colts Neck police say the truck’s driver, 37-year-old Maurice Boatwright of Westfield, and his 21-year-old passenger, Julio Escoto-Sandoval of Perth Amboy, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Route 18 south.

Both men were ejected from the truck in the single-vehicle crash, which occurred around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities say the truck, owned by a North Brunswick firm, overturned during the accident. That caused the tank to separate from the vehicle and spill nearly 1,400 gallons of diesel fuel oil onto the highway’s shoulder.
