CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Carson City health officials are offering a drive-thru flu clinic Saturday as part of an effort to practice their emergency response plan.

The event offering $20 flu shots in the Carson City DMV parking lot from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday is open to everyone.

The city’s Health and Human Services Department is working in conjunction with first-responders, emergency management, public works and the sheriff’s office to test the city’s capability to distribute medication during a disaster.

Sponsors say no one will be turned away for inability to pay. The cost can be billed to Medicaid, Medicare and most private insurances.
