ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - About 2,000 people packed a temple in St. Paul for an interfaith vigil to commemorate the victims of the anti-Semitic shooting in Pittsburgh.
The vigil Monday evening at Mount Zion Temple offered those gathered a chance to heal and unite in solidarity against the hate that police say motivated the shooting that left 11 people dead and six injured at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh Saturday.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Jewish Community Action executive director Carin Mrotz says the gathering was an antidote to antisemitism. And, Mount Zion Rabbi Stock Spilker told the overflow crowd that it’s powerful to feel like part of a community and know that love is stronger than hate.
