JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a woman and a 2-year-old boy were injured in a shooting inside a New Jersey apartment.
Jersey City spokeswoman Kim Wallace-Scalcione told reporters that the victims were found just after 2 a.m. with gunshot wounds.
She says the 20-year-old woman reported hearing a knock on the door, and as she opened the door she was struck by gunfire.
Wallace-Scalcione says the woman and child were taken to a hospital, where both were listed in stable condition.
No arrests were immediately reported, and the case remains under investigation.
